Investors in People (IIP)

Internal Review is a flexible review option available to recognised Investor in People organisations. It was introduced to offer recognised organisations more involvement and ownership of their post recognition reviews.

Internal Review involves training a number of employees within the organisation to the approved national standard to enable them to participate in reviews as part of the team led by the External Assessor. These Internal Reviewers will help plan the review, gather the evidence and report findings.

For recognised IIP organisations, the most evident benefits are the longer term reductions in external assessment time and cost, and the opportunity to develop Investors in People knowledge and quality auditing skills in–house. There are also many benefits for the individual, including development by skilled and experienced trainers from an Investors in People UK approved training provider and enhanced skills in critical analysis, interviewing, planning and feedback.

It is crucial that Internal Reviewers are selected. trained and managed carefully and thoroughly. To take on the formal role, they need to undergo the Approved Internal Reviewer two–day training programme, which is quality assured by Investors in People UK.
